How to use

If it does not work
No result?
- Check that there are at least 2 names and that the lines are not blank.
- For the ladder, the number of results must equal the number of names.
- The number to pick must be less than the number of names.
FAQ
Is it fair?
It uses the browser's cryptographic random numbers, with no ordering or storage a person could influence. Every draw is fresh.
What if a name appears more than once?
Each entry counts as a separate person. Enter a name several times to give someone more chances.
How is the ladder decided?
Horizontal rungs are placed at random and each name is traced from top to bottom. Rungs do not overlap on the same row, and no two names end up with the same result. Tap a name to see its path.
Are the results kept?
No. They are shown on screen only and disappear when you close the page. Use [Copy result] to keep them.
About this tool
A tool that takes a list of names and uses this device's random numbers to pick one (or several), shuffle everyone into a random order, or run a ladder game that links each name to a result. Handy for party forfeits, presentation order and prize draws. The names and results are not sent to a server or stored.
